We are seeking a highly qualified Visiting Associate Professor of Music to join our faculty team. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate music education courses and serve as the Music Education Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate music education courses, including Introduction to Music Education and Performance Music Methods
- Serve as the Music Education Coordinator, overseeing student placements for practicum and student teaching
- Assist with department recruiting events and maintain collaborative relationships with area music educators
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of music education students
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students in the music education program
- Minimum 3-5 years of successful teaching experience in K-12 schools (public or private)
- Completed Ph.D in Music Education by the time of hiring (ABD considered)
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship
- Experience working with diverse student populations and communities is highly desirable
