Position Overview
This role is dedicated to overseeing a select group of distressed loans. The incumbent will assess credit risks, restructure financing arrangements, and address problematic credits while aiming to reduce potential losses. Collaboration with borrowers, local banking representatives, and legal advisors is essential to facilitate effective resolutions. The position also involves preparing and delivering reports to bank management as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Oversight: Responsible for managing a designated portfolio of commercial, business, or Small Business Administration loans that are rated substandard. Conducts thorough analyses of loans and their collateral to devise and implement resolution strategies. Authorizes modifications and renewals, and identifies troubled debt restructures, recommending status adjustments as needed.
  • Reporting Duties: Continuously monitors assigned portfolios to identify losses or significant changes. Ensures all actions, discussions, and financial data are accurately recorded in the department's portfolio or loan management system. Presents cases to the Special Assets Committee when required.
  • Business Support: Manages various risks including credit, operational, reputational, regulatory, and legal aspects associated with client interactions, transactions, and financial exposures. May handle assigned overdue or pass-grade loans, escalating unresolved overdue loans for potential reassessment.
  • Communication: Engages directly with borrowers, bank legal counsel, and other relevant parties to negotiate and resolve credit issues. Clearly communicates updates and changes within the portfolio.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Banking or Small Business Administration, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience in the same fields.
