Job Summary

The Kentucky Department of Parks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accommodations Manager to oversee housekeeping and front desk operations for 17 Resort Parks and John James Audubon State Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the Kentucky State Parks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and assistance to housekeeping and front desk employees and supervisors at 18 Parks.
  • Coordinate internally and externally on the operations of housekeeping and front desk of the parks.
  • Create, review and update standard operating procedures for housekeeping and front desk.
  • Work with our customer service department to identify and correct areas of concern.
  • Maintain good public relations with park visitors. Work with department personnel to ensure that the parks serve the needs of its customers.
  • Work with Park Managers, Regional Managers, and the Operations Director to ensure consistency in rooms, front desk operations, amenities and product.
  • Conduct room inspections biannually of all 18 parks with accommodations.
  • Develop and maintain annual training and new hire training for housekeeping and front desk staff.
  • Evaluate and create standards for employee operational needs for each Park with accommodations
  • Work with the customer service department to deliver great customer service at our Parks.
  • Other duties may include but are not limited to housekeeping equipment, cleaning supplies, linens and amenities inventory and selection. Working in other parks that do not include accommodations to address customer service and housekeeping issues, providing direction and information for budgeting, and other duties to benefit the customer experience at all Kentucky Department of Parks.

Requirements
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Six years of administrative or management experience.
  • Master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional administrative, management, or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS
