Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Night Custodian to join our team at Washington Elementary School District. As a Night Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities, ensuring a healthy and productive learning environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas of the school
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and replace liners in trash cans
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, and clean walls and windows
  • Restock supplies and equipment, and perform minor repairs as needed
  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners
  • Secure the campus by checking doors, windows, and activating the security system
  • Report any maintenance needs or issues to the supervisor
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of custodial or maintenance-related experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions

The Night Custodian will work independently, with occasional supervision. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail. The Night Custodian will be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other allergens. The noise level is moderate, and the work requires standing, walking, and lifting.
