Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist to join our team at WorkCare, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide triage, first aid, education, and escalation of care as needed to ensure the health and safety of our employees.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with all parties involved in managing an injury case, including employees, supervisors, and medical professionals.
  • Support injured employees, monitor medical care, promote efficient reporting, and participate in accident investigation to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Assist in finding temporarily modified work in compliance with physical restrictions to ensure employees can continue working safely and effectively.
  • Help employees prevent repetitive, cumulative, and overuse-type musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses through education, coaching, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Conduct ergonomic analyses to provide recommendations on vehicle setup, work posture, tool use, and workstation modifications to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Provide on-the-job education and coaching to help workers achieve and maintain physical resilience through optimizing body mechanics and postural habits.
  • Assist employees in achieving sustained lifestyle improvements in areas such as nutritional health, physical fitness, and stress management to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Address and mitigate risks related to workers' total health, therefore reducing the risk of job-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Develop job-specific agility routines and programs to be implemented in a preventative method, also known as Work Hardening.
  • Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education, ergonomic recommendations, and first aid.
  • Proactively engage with employees at their work location to identify potential hazards and provide guidance on safe work practices.
  • Maintain records of triage, ergonomic assessment, first aid care, and education provided to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Gain a full understanding of the site operations, workflow, processes, and employees to make recommendations for preventing musculoskeletal injuries from occurring.
  • Leverage technology available to support total worker health and improve the overall well-being of our employees.
  • Work in partnership with other WorkCare service lines, including Incident Intervention, Onsite Clinics, and other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to employee health and safety.
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation method required.
  • Must hold CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Educated, trained, and evaluated in five major practice domains: injury and illness prevention and wellness promotion, examination, assessment, and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, therapeutic intervention, and healthcare administration and professional responsibility.
  • Experience in orthopedics, wellness, industrial/occupational health, or ergonomics experience a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Ergonomic Certification.
  • BOC Certified AT, in good standing.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Computer Skills
  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk long distances - greater than two miles per shift.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires sitting, and working at a desk.
  • Bending, stretching, and the ability to frequently get in and out of a vehicle.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity is required for the use of a computer keyboard and mouse.

Work Environment
  • Frequent outdoor work environment conditions, including exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
