Job Title: Registered Nurse

Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Step by Step Pediatrics in Westerville, OH. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our primary care team.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time role working 4 days a week, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient delivery of primary health care and creating a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient assessments and evaluations, working collaboratively with the clinical team to develop a plan of care.
  • Administer medications, injections, and treatments, as well as perform routine medical procedures.
  • Set up EKG machines, administer injections, and perform routine specimen collection and tests.
  • Provide medical triage via telephone for patients and offer health counseling and education to patients and their families.
  • Work closely with the clinical care team to deliver high-quality patient care and foster a climate that encourages open communication between the clinical team, patients, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with other team members to address gaps in care, promote improved clinical outcomes, and enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Act as a patient advocate to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
  • Review physician orders and lab requests, follow up as needed, and call in prescriptions or order refills as approved.
  • Measure vital signs, record them, and document other health-related issues on patients' charts.
  • Communicate test results to patients as directed and record notes in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Assist with patient education using related educational tools, periodicals, flyers, and handouts.
  • Respond to patient phone calls as appropriate and maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA regulations.
  • Attend meetings and participate in classroom activities as needed.

Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN)

B. Licensure Preferred:

BSN

  • Knowledge of using medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications, as directed
  • Skill in taking vital signs
  • Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
