Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Assistant to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing direct patient care and supporting the imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently, utilizing proper use of transport aides and equipment.
  • Provide pre-test information and instructions to patients, ensuring they are well-prepared for their imaging procedures.
  • Support the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to patient rights policies.
  • Digitize, format, and upload film-based or digital images into our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Operate various imaging software applications, including PACS, Paragon, Emix, PenRad, Cardiology Centricity, Workstation Centricity, T-Systems, MPF, and SCU.
  • Provide timely and efficient service to physicians, staff, and patients, ensuring images and reports are available as needed.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new associates, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality standards and maintain a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ability to dispense oral CT contrast for outpatients (if CNA certified).
