Job Overview

Global Industries is seeking a highly skilled Product Specification Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for generating 2-D and 3-D drawings and renderings, as well as BOM generation for various furniture projects and opportunities.

This is a fully remote position that requires strong technical design skills and the ability to collaborate with furniture dealers and sales representatives. If you have a passion for design and a strong foundation in technical skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate 2-D and 3-D drawings for furniture projects and opportunities of various sizes
  • Responsible for changes and revisions related to projects
  • Specify all product lines along with a good understanding of product codes
  • Collaborate with the team to recommend design solutions, provide value engineering, and overall design
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced modeling skills in AutoCAD
  • 2020 CAP and Worksheet Knowledge
  • Moderate to advanced CET Configura competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of product codes and product application
  • Advanced knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and specifications
  • Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product lines
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
  • Can multi-task, able to handle multiple assignments at one time
  • Proven track record of completing assignments in a timely manner with a proactive and self-starter approach
  • Strong attention to detail. Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Understanding of corporate, healthcare, and education furniture specifications
  • Must work well in a team environment and independently
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
