Become a vital part of our team as a Behavioral Support Technician

At Gersh Autism, we are in search of a committed professional to join us as a Behavioral Support Technician (BST). In this capacity, you will deliver direct behavioral assistance to students, particularly those diagnosed with autism, adhering to their Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs). We are looking for candidates with significant experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and proficiency in crisis management within educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Behavioral Plans by adhering to BIPs and FBA guidelines.
  • Provide direct assistance to students, with a focus on those with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Accurately gather behavioral data and report in accordance with ABA standards.
  • Utilize ABA methodologies to address and manage challenging behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively with educators and specialists to support student needs.
  • Implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary.
  • Ensure effective communication with parents, educators, and the ABA team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in ABA or over 3 years as a Behavioral Specialist.
  • Expertise in executing BIPs and conducting behavioral interventions.
  • Valid RBT certification.

Work Environment:

  • Standard working hours from Monday to Friday.
  • Possible opportunities for additional hours before and after school.
  • Work conducted in a school or classroom environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques when required.
  • Capability to lift a child if necessary.
