Job Title: DER Protection and Control Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled DER Protection and Control Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Energy Solutions Operation, you will work in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging distributed energy resources (DERs) and protection and controls (P&C) engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement protection and control schemes for renewable generation projects, including solar arrays, wind turbines, and battery systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and design engineers to ensure high-quality design and construction support.
  • Interface directly with clients and other staff in remote office locations.
  • Perform design quality reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, with a preferred emphasis on power system or sustainable energy.
  • Minimum of two (2+) years of experience in high voltage electrical utility substation protection and control engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of power system analysis, protection and control schemes, and electrical power calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations and work independently with minimal direction.
