Responsibilities:

* Work independently on large and complex accounts with limited direction from underwriters, team lead, and/or underwriting managers.
* Review and analyze complex premium allocations from clients and brokers, and respond to queries related to regulatory compliance, structure, fees, and progress execution.
* Develop skills and knowledge of underwriting assistants through coaching and feedback in cooperation with the team leader and/or underwriting manager.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for the company and departmental projects or initiatives.
* Participate and/or lead underwriting project teams, providing progress summaries and updates to the leadership team.
* Participate in user acceptance testing and other special projects as needed, applying expert understanding of systems, tools, and processes.
* Work with underwriting assistants to resolve data quality errors.
* Provide ongoing training to underwriting assistants through 1-1 and group sessions in cooperation with the team lead and/or manager.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related Commercial Insurance experience.
* Must have experience working in the Aerospace insurance area.
* Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
* Advanced knowledge of reinsurance structures.
* Advanced proficiency in MS office applications and Adobe Standard required.
* Appropriate combination of commercial insurance rating, coding, and underwriting assistant skills.
* Advanced knowledge of AIG's insurance operating systems which are used to rate, code, track and/or issue insurance policies.
* Proactive, independent work ethic with strong time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
* Must demonstrate the ability to multitask and work under limited supervision.
* Demonstrated excellent marketing, influencing, negotiating, and communication skills in dealing with C-suite leaders.
* Prioritizing – able to navigate and switch between multiple proprietary, vendor, web-based, and standard computer systems.
* Microsoft Office – proficiency in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
* Learning Agility – willingness to learn from experiences and new situations.
* Client Servicing – ability to anticipate client (internal and external) needs and act proactively.
* Problem Solving – identify problems and solutions matched to the appropriate solutions.
* Attention to Detail – demonstrate attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation is maintained.
* Leadership Skills – the ability to mentor peers in the team
