Assistant General Counsel, Privacy and Security

Chime is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to lead our Privacy and Security team. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a comprehensive privacy program that meets evolving regulatory expectations. This includes advising on privacy laws, developing and managing privacy impact assessments, and ensuring that privacy by design is embedded in all aspects of Chime's operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in privacy law, with a minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years in-house. They will be able to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into actionable guidance and have a proven track record of leading a team. Additionally, they will be comfortable advising senior business leaders and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive privacy program that meets evolving regulatory expectations
- Advise on privacy laws and regulations, including financial privacy
- Develop and manage privacy impact assessments and ensure that privacy by design is embedded in all aspects of Chime's operations
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement privacy policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory and industry trends in privacy and security laws
