Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Residential Advisor to join our team at Odle Management. As a Residential Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing a safe, supportive, and predictable environment for our trainees in their daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily supervision to students age 16-24 to ensure good order and discipline are maintained in the dormitory.
  • Ensure the dormitories are always a clean and safe environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all rules, policies, and procedures are followed by residents.
  • Maintain 100% accountability of all residents and logbook entries for any significant events that occur during their shift.
  • Assist students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
  • Ensure students meet the required schedule, waking on time and arriving on time for school or work assignment.
  • Serve as a Career Success Team (CST) member developing and implementing student interventions.
  • Ensure students are adequately prepared for the training day, e.g., dressed appropriately.
  • Provide daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, and other activities.
  • Ensure dorms are always clean and inspection ready.
  • Provide informal counseling related to stress management, personal problems, etc., and provide insight into responsible behavior and attitudes.
  • Document student records according to PRH, inputting all relevant student data.
  • Prepare applicable reports to ensure accurate documentation of student progress.
  • Maintain and ensure student rooms, dream boards, and bulletin boards with updated student and center information per established standards.
  • Serve as a channel of communication between management, staff, and students.
  • Facilitate groups in life skills, including budgeting, renter's rights, completing a lease, completing chores, etc.
  • Facilitate small group discussions on life skills, peer mediation, conflict resolution, etc.
  • Participate in ESPs for students in assigned dormitory.
  • Assess the need for confidentiality balanced with the need to report situations on behalf of students to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
  • Contact family members for consent for pass system as warranted.
  • Facilitate prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, emotional trauma, etc.
  • Meet individually a minimum of once a month with students on assigned dorm, documenting the meeting.
  • Perform and document regular perimeter checks of dorm and outside perimeter to ensure safety and security.
  • Facilitate weekly dorm meetings which include accountability checks.
  • Facilitate daily Morning Accountability Checks (MAC's).
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with center, Odle, and DOL standards.
  • Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for students.
  • Ensure assigned dormitory and its outdoor area are maintained in good repair, cleanliness, and order.
  • Ensure use of federal equipment is within DOL, Odle, and center guidelines.
  • Maintain a work environment of zero accidents and injuries, including no lost-time accidents.
  • Ensure a work environment that provides an equal opportunity for all.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, bullying, and disrespect in order to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer two years' experience in a related field such as counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
