Position Overview:

The Clinic Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while serving as an advocate for patients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects and records essential information, including chief complaints, allergies, vital signs, pain levels, medication history, and fall risk assessments.
  • Gathers and evaluates basic health history details.
  • Prepares the examination room with necessary equipment and supplies for patient visits, assisting with examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures while conducting lab and diagnostic tests, ensuring compliance with universal safety precautions.
  • Communicates and documents critical lab and diagnostic test results to the healthcare provider, maintaining quality control records as required.
  • Aids in scheduling patient appointments, lab tests, and referrals.
  • Reviews test preparation instructions with patients and documents the information in their medical records, referring them to the appropriate provider for further education if necessary.
  • Completes billing processes by obtaining diagnoses from providers and identifying billable supplies and services.
  • Follows proper protocols for administering medications and treatments, prioritizing patient safety.
  • Accurately documents the administration of medications and treatments.
  • Complies with all medical center policies, departmental guidelines, and safety regulations.

Work Schedule:

Full Time, Monday to Friday, Day Shift. No weekends, nights, or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • A valid nursing license in Iowa as either a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is required.
  • Must provide proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to employment or within 60 days of hire.
  • Completion of Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training within 6 months of hire, with renewal every 3 years.
