Job Summary

Centra Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasounds for the imaging of normal and abnormal structures of the human body.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients appropriately for the procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines
  • Take part in the training of students and staff as assigned
  • Create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
  • Prepare patients, collect relevant information for completion of procedures, and perform sonographic exams following defined protocols
  • Compile appropriate records to expedite results
  • Analyze the quality of images and processes as required
  • Complete data sheet containing pertinent patient information following exam prior to forwarding to radiologist or Cardiologist

Requirements

  • Associated Degree or completion of a Certification Program in Ultrasonography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Radiology upon hire of an accredited sonography program and/or ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), vascular technology (RVT) or Cardiac echo (RDCS)
  • Registry eligible candidates must become ARDMS registered in abdomen within 6 months of employment or registered in adult echo or vascular within 1 year of employment
  • Certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or RDCS by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • CPR Certification from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
