Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Centra Health is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages, under the supervision of qualified physicians for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Key Responsibilities- Autonomously performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures, confirming imaging orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity, contacting the ordering physician if an inadequate reason for test is supplied.
- Utilizes advanced knowledge to perform diagnostic procedures, producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data.
- Exercises independent judgment in the interpretation and analysis of exams, providing a preliminary diagnosis of the technical findings to the physician.
- Compiles study data and creates preliminary reports for physicians to assist with interpretation.
- Acquires quality images in accordance with department protocols, preparing and positioning patients for testing, and attaching appropriate equipment for procedures.
- Participates in Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echo Labs (ICAEL), or Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) annual accreditation process.
- Associated Degree or completion of a Certification Program in Ultrasonography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Radiology upon hire of an accredited sonography program and/or ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), vascular technology (RVT) or Cardiac echo (RDCS).
- Registry eligible candidates must become ARDMS registered in abdomen within 6 months of employment or registered in adult echo or vascular within 1 year of employment.
- Certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or RDCS by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
