About the Role

Fisher Associates PE, LS, LA, DPC is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our dynamic Structures Team within the Transportation Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing bridge plans and construction bid packages for various transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare bridge design plans and construction bid packages for transportation projects
  • Complete assignments related to bridge inspection, load rating, and analysis, as well as all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, subconsultants, and regulatory approving agencies
  • Assist with field inspections and reports for bridge and culvert inspections
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and research jurisdictional requirements
  • Develop creative and strategic design options that meet client goals
  • Complete site feasibility studies and site and environmental analysis
  • Schematic design, engineering systems coordination, site cost analysis, and design development
  • Specification and materials research
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
  • Develop detailed design plans, drawings, and specifications for bridges and related structures
  • Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of transportation experience, with structures/bridge design experience preferred
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain it
  • Experience with MS Office, MicroStation, STAAD, and Bridge Design Software preferred
