About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director to join our team at the Arkansas Department of Human Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing the fiscal operations and activities of the Medicaid Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in directing the activities of the Financial Activities Section through subordinate managers
  • Establish short-term and long-term goals and objectives to improve efficiency and accountability
  • Monitor activities to ensure that efforts are being made to attain established goals
  • Direct the activities of subordinate personnel through lower-level managers and supervisors
  • Analyze financial information concerning Medicaid program area historical trends
  • Develop projections for major program appropriations
  • Monitor and reconcile expenditures and funds based on weekly funding requests and quarterly federal fund reports
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, and seven years of experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, or a related area, including four years of professional managerial experience.
