Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Roadway Design Engineer to join our North Carolina office. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for designing innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from preliminary to final design.
  • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with client technical staff and project managers.
  • Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build transportation projects.
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
  • Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
  • Identify schedule and cost variances and develop recommendations for corrective action.
  • Actively participate in leadership positions in transportation-related organizations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
  • P.E. license required, North Carolina PE preferred.
  • 10 to 20 years' progressive engineering experience in transportation and roadway design.
  • 5 years of project management experience preferred.
  • Experience working on DOT design projects required, experience with multiple DOTs a plus.
