Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for developing and executing both exploratory and automated testing protocols to ensure the highest standards of product quality. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, troubleshooting issues, and defining corrective actions. The QA Engineer plays a crucial role in our product development lifecycle, conducting thorough testing prior to product launches to guarantee that software functions seamlessly and meets client expectations while remaining cost-effective. This role involves monitoring all phases of software development to identify and rectify system malfunctions to uphold quality benchmarks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities effectively.
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts utilizing open-source tools.
- Identify, document, and track bugs thoroughly.
- Conduct comprehensive regression testing when issues are resolved.
- Develop and implement testing processes for both new and existing products to meet client needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to ascertain system requirements.
- Monitor the results of the debugging process.
- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and provide training to users for implementing solutions.
- Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in software development.
- Proven background in software quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing methodologies.
- Proficient in automated testing tools.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting languages.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Familiarity with performance and/or security testing is advantageous.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work in an office environment, utilizing keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to manipulate keys and view computer screens to access information.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills.
