The Certified Medication Aide position at Cantex Continuing Care Network is responsible for administering oral and topical medications to patients/residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role requires a strong understanding of medication administration protocols and a commitment to ensuring patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medications as ordered by a physician, following state and federal regulations and facility policy.
- Record vital signs and medication administration accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor patients for reactions and side effects, reporting any concerns to a licensed nurse.
- Properly secure medication carts and rooms, adhering to state and federal regulations and facility policy.
- Participate in facility education in-services and attend Quality Assurance meetings as requested.
- State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
- State-approved medication administration certification is required (where applicable).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
