Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to join our team at The Hire Solution. As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of our investment firm, supporting a high-net-worth family, and collaborating with our Chief Financial Officer to drive financial success.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting Team Oversight: Foster a culture of trust and authenticity within the accounting team, ensuring a seamless and efficient working environment.
  • Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, cash transfers, deal fundings, expense reports, and financial reporting, to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
  • Capital Calls and Distributions: Review capital calls and distributions for fundings and private equity investments, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • NAV Close Process: Manage the monthly NAV close process to record unrealized changes in the portfolio, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reporting packages, including training accounting staff on changes and updates, to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial analysis based on financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash balances to avoid shortfalls, prepare transfers when needed, and ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Transaction Review: Review transactions, reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure policies and procedures follow professional standards, implement changes when necessary, and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage workpapers for annual tax compliance, liaise with external tax providers, and ensure timely and accurate tax submissions.
  • Financial Benchmarks: Establish financial and operating benchmarks, process monitoring, and reporting standards in coordination with the CFO, to drive financial excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong Banking Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of banking processes and financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
  • Accounting Experience: Have experience in maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Team Management: Demonstrate the ability to work with a small team, learn quickly, and manage multiple workstreams to achieve financial goals.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Showcase strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with strong analytical skills, to collaborate effectively with the team and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional Work Ethic: Demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, seeking continuous improvement and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality results.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree: Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or a related field, ensuring a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.
  • Senior-Level Experience: Have seven or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager, providing leadership and expertise in financial operations.
