Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Public Benefits Specialist to join our team in Oak Harbor. As a Public Benefits Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping individuals and families access public assistance services. Your expertise in financial eligibility determination and customer service will be essential in ensuring that our clients receive the support they need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intensive interviews and determine eligibility for public assistance programs
  • Process applications and case actions using internal software
  • Explain program requirements and answer questions regarding benefits or available services to clients
  • Work with complex technical regulations and procedures to analyze complex situations
  • Communicate effectively with people in diverse or difficult situations
Requirements
  • Four years of experience in a customer service job where the major duties involved public contact or a job providing staff support in financial eligibility determination
  • A bachelor's degree
  • A combination of years of experience and education totaling four years
  • One year of equivalent out-of-state experience conducting financial eligibility determination for public assistance to include financial, medical, and food assistance programs

We offer a competitive salary range of $4,093.00 to $5,643.00 per month, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and basic life insurance, as well as a retirement plan and paid leave.
