Position: Billing and Credentialing Coordinator

Compensation: $50-$60k annually (based on experience)

Work Schedule: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8 AM to 4:30 PM

Location: Remote and in-office hybrid

Key Qualifications for the Billing and Credentialing Coordinator role:

  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Previous experience in billing and claims processing within the hospice sector
  • Knowledge of the medical provider credentialing process, including policies and procedures related to delegated credentialing; understanding of medical billing and claims payment systems as they pertain to provider enrollment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy; ability to handle multiple projects effectively

Responsibilities of the Billing and Credentialing Coordinator:

  • Manage initial and re-credentialing applications from healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to departmental standards.
  • Accurately input application data, review for discrepancies prior to submission for quality assurance, and fulfill departmental requirements.
  • Conduct follow-ups on provider files flagged for monitoring, in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Oversee timely follow-ups for ongoing state license monitoring reports.
  • Ensure prompt follow-ups for Medicare/Medicaid sanctions monitoring reports.
  • Prepare and distribute re-credentialing groups, complying with departmental standards.
  • Complete requests for re-credentialing packets as per departmental guidelines.
  • Generate reports for various state plans to identify providers who have not submitted their re-credentialing applications or are overdue.
  • Maintain accurate records of payments received from insurance companies and patients, ensuring current balances of all receivables.
  • Keep updated records, including billing addresses and contact numbers for patients.
  • Follow up on overdue payments and resubmit billing as necessary.
  • Address $0 payment issues.
  • Post charges and finalize claims to payers.
  • Submit billing information to relevant insurance providers.
  • Process claims efficiently.
  • Resolve instances of denial and manage appeals.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as faxing, answering calls, and managing emails.
  • Support the credentialing of new providers with insurance companies.
  • Conduct initial insurance verifications and benefits checks for new clients.
  • Perform bi-monthly benefit re-verifications.
