Job Description

About the Role:

Ashton Woods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interior Design Manager to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of model home design, from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production workflow of multiple drawings and projects simultaneously.
  • Develop concepts and designs that highlight the architectural features of the space plan, create presentations, and select finishes.
  • Draw plans, elevations, and architectural details that illustrate the design intent and use of materials.
  • Select and purchase furnishings, accessories, and soft goods for all projects.
  • Lead install teams onsite to complete the project to design standards.
  • Work with the design team to adhere to and meet design schedules.
  • Stay current on design trends through exploration of new projects and designs.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the project standards library.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the model home design/merchandising industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts/interior design or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft/Adobe Suite.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and an eye for quality execution.
  • Demonstrates strong effective relationship building with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively without compromising quality of work or project deadlines.

Working Conditions:

This role requires frequent travel and overnight stays. Travel is mostly Tuesday – Thursday, but it can vary. Travel could be consecutive weeks at a time depending on the needs of the divisions. Model travel can be postponed last minute depending on construction delays. Flexible with travel schedule and ability to travel frequently, if needed.
