Job Summary:
The RN Charge Nurse will be responsible for coordinating the nursing care on their shift, ensuring a safe and effective environment for patients and staff. This role will oversee ER patient flow, focusing on increased communication and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate nursing care on assigned shifts
- Oversee ER patient flow and ensure efficient use of resources
- Provide leadership and guidance to RNs, LVNs, Monitor Techs/Unit Secretaries, and E.R. Techs
- Collaborate with Director of Critical Care Services to achieve departmental goals
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification
- At least one year of experience in Emergency Department
- Competent in triage, fast track (RTA), and main E.D. operations
- Management of Assaultive Behavior certification within 90 days of hire
- Dysrhythmia certification
- Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment
- 4-hour Stroke class within first 90 days of employment
