About the Role

Old Republic Surety Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AVP Bond Manager to join its Underwriting Team in Texas. This position will be based out of either an existing branch location or a potential new metropolitan branch location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide effective and efficient management of personnel and other resources to meet profit and growth goals.
  • Underwriting and Risk Management: Review and critique underwriting submissions to meet company standards of underwriting; accept/reject risks within underwriting guidelines.
  • Staffing and Development: Identify staffing needs within the respective branch, supervise direct reports, and make recommendations for performance management and disciplinary action.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Keep current with marketing trends in the area, advise the company of these trends, and participate in regular travel to maintain current business and/or obtain additional business.
  • Technology and Data Management: Develop and maintain the agency database utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to assist in the marketing growth objectives of the respective branch and/or home office.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of progressively successful managerial experience in underwriting, production, and marketing within the fidelity and surety industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and accurate proofreading skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records.
