About Cascadia Health

Cascadia Health is a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services to individuals with serious mental illnesses and addictions. We strive to be consumer-involved, consumer-engaged, and consumer-driven, ensuring our services are sensitive to the trauma and experiences of those we serve.

Job Summary

Cascadia Health is seeking a dedicated Counselor III to join our Child & Family team. As a Counselor III, you will work with clients to assess risks, diagnose mental health and chemical dependency issues, and support treatment readiness. You will also act as a liaison between Cascadia and community partners, ensuring comprehensive and culturally responsive care for LGBTQ youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health and other clinical assessments.
  • Provide gender-affirming services and be knowledgeable about WPATH standards of care.
  • Develop and implement personalized, strength-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Offer individual, group, and family therapy tailored to the unique needs of LGBTQ clients.
  • Collaborate with community partners such as schools, Q Center, SMYRC, and Youth Avenue to process referrals and follow up on services.
  • Provide consultation and model clinical interventions to staff and team members regarding LGBTQ-specific issues and barriers.
  • Advocate for clients in securing housing, medical, and emergency services.
  • Provide crisis intervention to minimize or eliminate periods of crisis and acute care utilization.
  • Document and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and agency meetings.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution. Must meet the requirements to become credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) per Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR). A CADC credential is preferred due to the high occurrence of substance use/abuse.
  • Experience and training working with LGBTQ youth and adults is strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, cultural competence, and understanding of gender-affirming services and WPATH standards of care. Proficiency in computer software for documentation and data entry.
Why Cascadia Health?

Cascadia Health offers a supportive and welcoming atmosphere that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusion.
