Job Title: Supervisor - Operations

At Balcones Recycling, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor - Operations to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operating machines that process household recyclable materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Observe and monitor sorting, equipment operation, processing, and bailing operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Assign duties to workers according to production schedules and demonstrate safe and efficient use of equipment.
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to verify conformance to production standards.
  • Prepare and submit time, attendance, and production reports.
  • Lead by example and manage personnel to achieve production goals.
  • Multi-task and willingness to learn all areas of operations.
  • Enter production data and other information on the computer.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent business experience required.
  • Previous supervisory skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from a set of written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a plant processing environment for extended periods of time.
  • Flexibility required to work successfully on a team.
  • Active individual who will be comfortable spending most of the day walking.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good time management and multi-tasking ability.
  • Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
