The operational scope encompasses critical areas such as IT Operations and Maintenance, Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The nature of the work demands a robust and reliable operational environment, ensuring that mission-critical functions are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
The Telecommunications Operations Manager will oversee all circuit management tasks essential for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is responsible for the command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services.

Core Duties Include:
  • Collaborating with the Technical Control Facility (TCF) lead and subcontractors to meet service levels and contractual obligations.
  • Acting as a liaison between mission partners and external service providers.
  • Exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of relevant IT technologies, both user-facing and back-end infrastructure.
  • Executing tasks within designated timelines with minimal oversight.
  • Utilizing exceptional communication skills to document solutions and gather requirements for new circuit installations or modifications.
  • Preparing reports and status updates for higher management regarding circuit operations.
  • Ensuring technicians effectively restore circuits, identify faults, and conduct quality control testing.
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures for TCF operations.
  • Managing the creation and maintenance of all circuit history documentation.
  • Overseeing all circuit action tasks related to installation and deactivation.
  • Submitting necessary reports as required by DISA.
  • Ensuring compliance with communications security (COMSEC) processes in accordance with regulations.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation outside of standard working hours.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of experience with Air Force IT systems or similar Department of Defense (DoD) IT systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD and Air Force standards and policies.
  • Experience in complex, multi-site DoD enterprise IT environments.
  • Possession of a current DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Relevant Air Force Specialty Code or equivalent military occupational specialty.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a technology-related field.
