Job Description

At Sulzer USA Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Test Engineer to join our Services_AME team in the United States. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting hydraulic performance tests on centrifugal pumps using computer-aided testing and basic instruments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hydraulic performance tests on centrifugal pumps for new and refurbished equipment.
  • Generate performance test curves and validate data for customers and internal test records.
  • Interface with customers on test scope.
  • Design test fixtures as required, provide job-specific test instructions, layouts, and drawings to the shop.
  • Prepare written test procedures and agendas for customer submittal.
  • Provide test scope and cost estimation support to Tendering for pump test quoting.
  • Evaluate pump performance, issue work instructions to the shop for pump rework as needed.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test non-conformances.
  • Plan and support ongoing test equipment maintenance and upgrade program.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Promotes and maintains an image of technical excellence and high integrity.
  • Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and ESH Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BSME or equivalent engineering degree required.
  • 5 years' experience with pump curves and pump performance evaluation.
  • Engineering-related software experience.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, computer, and hydraulic/fluid handling skills and knowledge.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
