We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at First Steps Recovery. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch medical care to our clients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct client care, modeling and coaching on basic nursing care and behavioral interventions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform tasks and interventions by engaging in positive behavioral supports, trauma-informed care, person-centered practices, and promoting the systematic use of nursing and behavioral interventions that follow a least-restrictive approach.
- Carry out all assigned basic nursing responsibilities of inpatient detoxification and residential work sites, and actively participate in the department's development and direction.
- Facilitate ensuring nursing staffing requirements are met and assist the Medical Operations Manager in the orientation and training of assigned nursing staff.
To be successful as a Medical Care Specialist, you must have:
- A valid LVN or LPT license.
- 1-2 years of experience in the field of recovery or equivalent human services work experience.
- Prior experience in a detox environment is highly desired.
- Robust knowledge of detox medications and protocols.
As a Medical Care Specialist at First Steps Recovery, you can expect:
