Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at First Steps Recovery. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch medical care to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care, modeling and coaching on basic nursing care and behavioral interventions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform tasks and interventions by engaging in positive behavioral supports, trauma-informed care, person-centered practices, and promoting the systematic use of nursing and behavioral interventions that follow a least-restrictive approach.
  • Carry out all assigned basic nursing responsibilities of inpatient detoxification and residential work sites, and actively participate in the department's development and direction.
  • Facilitate ensuring nursing staffing requirements are met and assist the Medical Operations Manager in the orientation and training of assigned nursing staff.
Requirements

To be successful as a Medical Care Specialist, you must have:

  • A valid LVN or LPT license.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the field of recovery or equivalent human services work experience.
  • Prior experience in a detox environment is highly desired.
  • Robust knowledge of detox medications and protocols.
