About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Fort Wayne. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial electrical systems, including troubleshooting, programming, and performing preventative/predictive maintenance on a wide range of equipment and automated systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including low and medium voltage electrical, electronic systems, information systems, computer systems, instrumentation, telemetry, and communications equipment.
• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance and calibration on electrical systems, including programming and troubleshooting devices such as VFDs and instruments.
• Maintain and inspect lighting systems, toxic and combustible gas alarm systems, portable detectors, and equipment at various locations.
• Interface systems with PLC, SCADA, and devices, and design and install new electrical circuits including tie-ins, controls, and devices.
• Assist with capital improvement projects, including budgeting, planning, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Provide input and information for O&M budgeting processes, and research, install updates, and new programs to maintain data communication, telemetry systems, and associated devices.
• Utilize CMMS to perform scheduled maintenance work, record associated labor time and materials, and enter all necessary and applicable data.
• Arrange the ordering of electrical/electronic parts, assist with optimization of inventory through CMMS, and perform duties in accordance with City of Fort Wayne safety rules and operating regulations.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist, remain on-call for emergencies, and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:
• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus three years of experience, or five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, and interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Possess a valid Indiana Driver's License, and CPR, First Aid, Confined Space Entry certifications, and an Allen County Journeyman Electrician's license, or five years of proven documented work experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial PLC's, electrical systems, and control circuits.

Salary:
This position is estimated to have a salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
