Heavy Equipment Technician

Allegheny Contracting, LLC is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Specialist to join our team. This role is based in Ridgway, PA and offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with prior mechanic experience.

Salary: $25/Hr - $35/Hr (estimated)

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain and repair heavy equipment and trucks as well as light duty trucks and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, be able to diagnose operational difficulties, and possess excellent trouble-shooting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair heavy equipment and trucks as well as light duty trucks and equipment
• Able to pick up 50lbs
• Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, and stretch for long periods of time while working
• Some welding and fabrication
• Walk and work on uneven ground, requiring stable footing
• Diagnose operational difficulties experienced by several brands and types of equipment
• Ability to trouble shoot and identify issues and fix them quickly and efficiently
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Prior mechanic experience
• Inspection license
• Must be able to use all tools and equipment necessary to perform work assignments
• Must have own tools
• Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the job stated above
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic mathematics and computer skills
• Recognize and follow company procedures and policies
• Ability to operate all products and models of our equipment
• Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
• Clean background check
• CDL preferred but not required
