Area Supervisor Job Description

As an Area Supervisor at Dollar Tree, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail distribution center in West Memphis, AR. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for leading a team of up to 40 non-exempt associates and overseeing the activities of an assigned area, including Bulk, Shipping, Receiving, Repack, and Forklift operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that work areas are appropriately staffed for assigned shifts and that production, quality, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Provide orientation, coaching, and training to assigned personnel on department processes and systems, and provide corrective actions as needed.
  • Create a team environment through motivation and positive feedback of associates and through active communication.
  • Communicate effectively across departments within the DC to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are met on a daily basis.
  • Conduct physical inspections of assigned work areas/equipment and prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Provide data input as needed for required reporting.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience in an automated distribution or production environment.
  • Familiarity with Radio Frequency and pick-to-light systems is desired.
  • Must be flexible to work multi-shifts in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as strong planning and organization skills.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency is a plus.
