Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to contribute to our financial operations. The ideal candidate will report to the Accounting Supervisor and play a key role in the financial reporting cycle, as well as perform financial analysis for our business activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute accounting tasks related to oil and product agreements.
  • Prepare and verify journal entries, analyses, and perform general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial documentation.
  • Engage in the month-end closing process and generate periodic financial reports.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation for annual audits.
  • Support tax preparers in the filing of federal and provincial tax returns.
  • Contribute to tax audits and assist in the preparation of various tax returns.
  • Manage the company’s tax database effectively.
  • Address inquiries from the Parent company’s Accounting and Finance team.
  • Assist in resolving department-related financial queries.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements in financial reporting and accounting procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, with strong reading and writing skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in Commodities Trading.
  • Experience with Canadian tax preparation is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS and US tax regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work autonomously and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
  • High proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak financial periods.
