Role Summary:
Provide essential support in the nursing and medical treatment of patients within the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include basic patient care, monitoring and recording vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and fluid intake-output measurements. Administer oxygen therapy, establish intravenous access, perform phlebotomy, urinary catheterization, gastric lavage, and suctioning, under the guidance of an Emergency Department physician or registered nurse. Assist with fracture management, including the application of casts or splints. Operate electrocardiographic (EKG) machines and assist in examinations as directed. Monitor patients to ensure their safety and well-being, promptly reporting observations to the Charge Nurse or designated personnel. Aid patients with daily living activities such as meals, mobility, hygiene, linen changes, and toileting as instructed. Report any compliance or equipment issues to the department Director or Charge Nurse. Ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care responsibilities may encompass neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
