Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient operating room environment, adhering to aseptic surgical techniques and protocols.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, providing support and ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Transport patients and equipment, maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency in the operating room.
- Participate in departmental committees and work teams, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and staff satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist position.
- Advanced knowledge and skill of aseptic surgical techniques used in the preparation of materials, supplies, and equipment for various surgical procedures.
- Proficient in all surgical specialties with expertise in a minimum of two.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to withstand a very stressful and fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
