Chicago Financial Search, Inc. is seeking a skilled Network Infrastructure Specialist to manage the daily operations of our computer networks and provide first-level support within our Network Operations Center (NOC) for both clients and vendors.

About The Role:

This full-time exempt position is based in Chicago and reports directly to the Director of Network Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundational knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure, as well as expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting networking devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee network performance and availability and offer customer support to our collocated clients.
  • Deliver first-level network support for client and vendor connectivity issues.
  • Communicate effectively with end users, ensuring professional management of expectations.
  • Conduct scheduled failover tests and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of network security protocols.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and documentation of network infrastructure and security measures.
  • Participate in the design, deployment, and configuration of new network projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in network engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in network engineering.
  • Proven experience in providing client-facing support within a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and highly detail-oriented.
  • Capable of quickly mastering new or unfamiliar technologies and products through documentation and online resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a professional, self-motivated attitude.
  • Comfortable working with staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and reliable and adaptable when needed.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure technology environment.
  • Strong independent project and time management skills.
  • Candidates must be local to the Chicagoland area or willing to relocate.
