Position Overview
As an Elementary School Instructor at Uncommon, you will inspire a passion for learning in every student from the outset. Our educators foster a culturally-responsive, dynamic, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Duties
You will collaborate to create an engaging and joyful classroom that promotes mastery and encourages students to participate in academic discussions. - Literacy Development
You will teach foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through a meaningful English Language Arts curriculum. - Mathematics Instruction
You will introduce essential mathematical concepts to students. - Science Education
You will deliver a curriculum focused on geology, astronomy, ecology, and natural cycles, ensuring students understand climate change and environmental stewardship. - Social Studies Curriculum
You will incorporate analyses of America's diverse histories, emphasizing cultural and civic awareness.
Data-Driven Instruction
You will engage in weekly meetings with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze student work and assessment trends, implementing strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners.
School Culture and Community Engagement
You will build strong relationships with students, ensuring they feel valued and heard, and partner with families to provide necessary resources for their children's educational needs.
You will participate in professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions, support various school activities, and collaborate with your grade-level team to set academic goals and refine instructional practices.

Required Experience:
A strong interest in impacting K-12 students in urban settings (1-2 years of experience preferred). Academic expertise in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields is necessary.
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Teacher certification is not required for consideration, but candidates must meet state certification eligibility requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $77,000, based on various factors including relevant experience, education, certifications, and tenure.
