Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Omni Manor Health Care Center in Youngstown, OH.

About the Role

This full-time position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to residents, ensuring their physical and mental well-being. The successful candidate will work closely with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional care and support.

Responsibilities
  • Admitting New Residents

Welcome new residents to our community, ensuring a smooth transition and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Ongoing Assessments

Conduct regular assessments of residents' physical and mental health, identifying areas where we can provide additional support and resources.

Patient Communication

Clearly explain procedures and treatment protocols to residents, keeping them informed and empowered throughout their stay.

Care Planning

Develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each resident's unique needs and goals.

Medical History and Physical Condition

Gather and record accurate information about residents' medical history and physical condition, using this data to inform care decisions.

Vital Signs Monitoring

Regularly monitor patients' vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.

Routine Care

Provide routine care for patients, including assistance with daily living activities and medication management.

Medical Charts Review

Review medical charts to ensure accurate and up-to-date information, identifying areas where we can improve care delivery.

Collaboration with Healthcare Team

Work closely with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address resident needs.

Communication with Patients and Families

Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing timely updates and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

Specimen Preparation

Prepare specimens for lab courier, ensuring accurate labeling and timely submission.

Medication Administration and Catheter Management

Administer medications as prescribed and monitor catheters to prevent complications and promote resident safety.

Wound Care and Injections

Provide wound care and administer injections as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.

Patient Comfort

Assist with patient comfort measures, such as adjusting bedding or providing emotional support.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Medical Knowledge

A strong understanding of medical principles and practices.

Patience and Compassion

The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, providing empathy and support to residents and their families.

Kindness and Critical Thinking

The capacity to think critically and make sound judgments, while also demonstrating kindness and understanding in your interactions with others.

Observational Skills

The ability to observe and interpret residents' behavior, identifying potential issues and developing strategies to address them.

Knowledge of Infection Control Practices

A solid understanding of infection control practices and protocols, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.

Communication Skills

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
