Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Environmental Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department, focusing on the development of new renewable projects for NextEra Energy Resources and its affiliates.

The individual selected for this position will oversee a team of environmental specialists dedicated to the environmental permitting of projects across the Mountain West region.

This is a remote position requiring work from home in the western United States, with travel expectations ranging from 2 to 3 times per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of professionals in environmental permitting processes.
- Conduct environmental siting, licensing, permitting, and due diligence.
- Manage project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Oversee environmental field studies and consultant activities.
- Assess and communicate environmental risks effectively.
- Negotiate with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
- Develop and manage vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Supervise personnel activities including hiring, performance evaluations, and mentoring.
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations, particularly the National Environmental Policy Act and related regulations.
- Proficient in analysis, problem-solving, and professional skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, communication abilities (both written and verbal), integrity, compliance, leadership, and project management skills.

Additional Duties:
- Secure all necessary federal, state, and local environmental licenses, permits, and approvals for development projects.
- Support various projects addressing complex environmental and regulatory challenges and assist in comprehensive environmental due diligence for potential acquisitions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant national and state environmental policies and regulations.
- Interface with internal and external customers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to resolve intricate environmental issues.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Translate regulations and permits into actionable compliance tasks for construction.
- Provide specialized environmental expertise and technical support.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project and team leadership.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication.
- Advanced degrees in Environmental Sciences or related fields.

Compensation:
The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $123,200.00 to $184,800.00 annually, determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and industry knowledge.
