Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Protection Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance to state, local, and tribal governments, as well as non-profit organizations, on environmental protection programs and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to state, local, and tribal governments, as well as non-profit organizations, on environmental protection programs and policies.
  • Review and analyze environmental data and reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement environmental protection programs and policies to meet agency goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve environmental protection goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal environmental statutes and regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and Marine Protection, Reserves, and Sanctuaries Act.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, defined as reviewing grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements for accuracy and completeness, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on ad hoc teams, and managing competing demands and priorities.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M. if related.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
