Position Overview:

We are seeking a contract Software Testing Specialist to enhance and maintain our data collection systems, which are vital for advancing our objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement tools, platforms, and documentation to streamline data collection and research processes.
  • Conduct software, integration, and system testing.
  • Manage the deployment of software updates.
  • Provision and integrate new hardware and recording devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues, providing technical assistance during data collection sessions.
  • Oversee system performance and establish monitoring alerts.
  • Automate and optimize operational workflows.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 5 years of professional programming expertise.
  • Proficient in Python programming.
  • Able to serve as the primary quality assurance representative for the team.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, preferably Pytest and Behave.
  • Familiarity with RESTful systems, ideally FastAPI.
  • Knowledge of networking principles.
  • Experience with shell scripting in both Linux and Windows environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and React, or similar frontend technologies.
  • Experience working in multi-sensor environments and multimedia applications.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams.
