Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bus Driver to transport program participants safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus and Passenger endorsements, as well as excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children and are committed to maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive bus safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.
  • Maintain bus in orderly and clean fashion.
  • Complete thorough checks before and after every trip, recording all information.
  • Record gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms.
  • Clean bus out each day after last use.
  • Promote safety at all times, keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
  • Announce bus rules prior to departure for each trip.
  • Develop friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
  • Communicate regularly with other staff and supervisor.
  • Assist the Food Service Manager with receiving and storing food in accordance with Program guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or satisfactory completion of the GED.
  • 2 Years Bus Driving experience.
  • 21 years of age.
  • DOT medical Examiner Certificate.
  • Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid.
