Standard Solar, a leading independent power producer, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its in-house legal department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy transactions, particularly in solar energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead transactional counsel for distributed solar and solar + storage acquisition and development transactions
  • Manage and lead activities by working with internal transaction teams
  • Review, draft and negotiate relevant agreements, including MIPA/APAs, site control, revenue agreements, and other ancillary documents
  • Prepare and negotiate term sheets and LOIs for asset acquisitions
  • Provide practical legal advice and support on commercial matters and organic growth initiatives
  • Engage and manage outside transactional counsel
  • Play a key role in the broader in-house legal team
  • Interface directly with developer, seller, and offtake counterparties
  • Ensure quality, clarity, and consistency across acquisition transactions

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (or LLB) from an accredited law school
  • At least 4+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house, preferably in renewable energy transactions
  • Extensive MIPA experience a plus, strong working experience with MIPA/APAs required
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional internal teams and manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and legal leadership skills
