REGISTERED NURSE - CHILD INPATIENT SERVICES

As one of Tampa's premier facilities for behavioral and mental health since 1949, Gracepoint is currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses for our children's emergency and crisis stabilization program. This initiative aims to provide essential triage and therapeutic care for youth aged 4-17 experiencing behavioral, mental, and substance abuse challenges.

  • Enjoy a 20% shift differential for evening and overnight shifts.
  • Work 12-hour shifts: either 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM or 8:00 PM - 8:30 AM.
  • Flexible PRN schedules available with a minimum commitment of 4 shifts per month.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves delivering direct nursing care to patients with behavioral health disorders, grounded in a systematic body of knowledge. The Registered Nurse will supervise care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians, employing the nursing process which includes assessment, identification of nursing issues, planning, execution, evaluation, and adjustment of nursing interventions based on patient outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate the physiological, psychosocial, and environmental needs of patients.
  • Execute the care plan in accordance with nursing standards and practices.
  • Assess the suitability of nursing interventions outlined in the care plan.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation by Behavioral Health Technicians and Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Exhibit proficiency in critical thinking and decision-making.
  • Oversee staff performance and maintain workflow within the unit.
  • Share professional and technical expertise while adhering to established policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree from an NLN-accredited program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in psychiatric mental and/or behavioral patient care.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from managers, patients, families, and colleagues.
