Position Overview
As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nursing care within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Your clinical expertise will ensure that patient care adheres to the highest standards of practice and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate patient care in a high-acuity environment.
- Coordinating and executing patient care tailored to the specific needs of the adult and geriatric populations.
- Functioning autonomously while also collaborating with the Nurse Manager and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining an active, unrestricted nursing license in any U.S. state.
- Providing care in specialized areas such as the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) as required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of an accredited nursing program recognized by relevant state accrediting bodies.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is highly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in an intensive care setting, with at least five years of clinical experience in critical care preferred.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Certification in Moderate Sedation or equivalent is required.
Work Schedule
Agency nurses may be expected to work ten (10) to twelve (12) hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Clinical Competencies
All ICU nurses are trained to perform essential procedures, including:
- Insertion of peripheral and central lines.
- Management of complex surgical patients.
- Hemodynamic monitoring and emergency response protocols.
In the event of critical situations, you will be responsible for executing appropriate interventions as directed by the attending physician.
