Job Overview:

We are in search of proficient Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses (ICU RNs) to fulfill essential roles within our organization. As an ICU RN, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that nursing care meets established standards of practice and clinical excellence. Your duties will encompass assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) environment, where patients with critical conditions necessitate vigilant monitoring and prompt intervention when required.

You will be tasked with coordinating and executing patient care for both adult and elderly populations in the ICU, working both collaboratively and independently under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or designated personnel. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent nursing experience is required.
  • A robust foundation in critical care nursing is vital, including experience in assessing and managing critically ill patients, handling complex medical conditions, and effectively responding to emergencies.
  • ICU RNs must conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status.
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of patient responses to treatment interventions are essential.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols is critical for managing cardiac emergencies and delivering advanced life support in the ICU.
  • Experience in administering a diverse range of medications, including vasoactive agents, sedatives, and analgesics, is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of medication indications, dosages, and potential adverse effects is required.
  • Experience in managing mechanical ventilation is crucial, including assessing ventilator settings, monitoring patient responses, and troubleshooting ventilator-related issues.
  • Ability to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or severe sepsis, is essential.
  • Maintain proficiency in advanced life support techniques and respond swiftly to changes in patients' conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Effective communication with team members is necessary to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records is required.

Experience Preferences:

  • Resumes demonstrating over 3 years of experience or prior service in a Government Hospital may receive a more favorable evaluation.

Education Requirements:

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted state license for Registered Nurse.
  • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification, degrees, and/or licenses must be kept current. Documentation verifying current certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
  • Proficiency in administering a variety of medications, including vasoactive agents, sedatives, and analgesics, is essential.
  • Strong understanding of medication indications, dosages, and potential adverse effects is necessary.

Schedule:

  • Hours range from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
