Job Title: Contents Moving Specialist

Job Summary:

The Contents Moving Specialist is responsible for professionally handling, packing, unpacking, wrapping, moving, inventorying, cleaning, and returning customer contents that have been affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, sewer, or storm damage.

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Responsible for driving company vehicles and utilizing good judgment and driving skills
  • Pack-out and/or pack-in furniture and contents to keep items safe and minimize loss
  • Clean furniture and contents using prescribed cleaning techniques
  • Disassemble and reassemble furniture as required
  • Pack a truck so that it is balanced and the load is secure
  • Set and redistribute contents from warehouse vaults to the contents cleaning room, as necessary
  • Promptly identify and properly handle urgent care items that require immediate attention
  • Follow company policies for handling specialty items
  • Take a photo and written inventory of items and record any marks or damage
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
Physical Demands:

The Contents Moving Specialist will be required to exert up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Standing – For sustained periods of time
  • Walking – Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks
  • Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like
  • Balancing – Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling
  • Stooping – Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
  • Kneeling – Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
  • Crouching – Bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Crawling – Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Fingering – Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand
  • Repetitive Motion – Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Grasping – Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary
  • Hearing – Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Vision – Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing a smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device, assembling, visually inspecting small parts, and/or operating machines and tools
Work Environment:

The Contents Moving Specialist will work at various jobsites and in a warehouse, both indoors and outdoors, and will be subject to weather and hot/cold temperature changes, dirt, dust, soot, and possibly mold, work environments that are not climate controlled, noise, ladders to use for high heights, hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation, and close quarters such as crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, attics, etc.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Previous experience in cleaning/moving preferred
  • Working knowledge of the best practices of wrapping and packing furniture and contents as well as how to safely move difficult items
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and disciplined to stay on task
  • Excellent customer service skills and a team spirit
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work after hours/on-call on a rotational basis
Compensation:

The salary for this position is $18-20 per year.
